Institute 1 - 1 Newry City

ANDY Graham secured a point for Newry City from this season closing long trek north to Drumahoe.

Paddy McLaughlin fired Institute in front on 25 minutes for his second goal in as many games.

Newry almost levelled moments later when Stephen Garrett came close only to be denied by an exceptional Alan Ryan save.

'Stute were given a further boost six minutes before half-time when Cullen Feeney was dismissed by referee Trevor Moutray for a foul on David McClements.

But Newry levelled just a minute into the second half after a speculative Graham effort caught both Ryan and the home defence napping.

And they might have edged into the lead around the hour mark only for a Gerard Rowe attempt to flash just wide.

Then, with 17 minutes left, Institute were unlucky not to lay claim to all three points when substitute Paul Lowry fired just over the bar after a run which saw him evade a number of challenges.
