Newry had a useful runout against Airtricity Premier League newboys Monaghan United in a friendly game on Tuesday evening at the Showgrounds. This was a more competitive affair than your average friendly and Newry did well to run out 2-1 winners. Marty Havern put Newry ahead before Jordan Keegan equalised for the visitors.
