Community Relations Strategy - A Brief Outline
Newry City FC totally supports the IFA's campaign for "Football for All" and have put measures in place to ensure that we are the leading club in the JJB Premiership promoting community relations. These measures include:
- Promoting the growth of relationships and structures within the Newry & Mourne area and Northern Ireland as a whole, that accepts and rspects the political, racial and religious backgrounds of everyone in our society.
- Recognising the responsibility and role we have to our local community by ensuring that everyone is given the same opportunities to excel or simply participate in sport.
- Tackling the many different aspects of secarianism (intimidating flags/chants etc) at all Newry City games through effective stewarding, PA announcements, programme statements and website articles, and acting swiftly by taking appropriate action if any sectarian incident should happen.
- Recognising that all our efforts to promote better community relations need to be run on a continuing basis and not just be one off events.
- Opening the Greenbank Community Complex (NCFC's atate of the art 3no 3G facilities) to all community groups and schools free of charge.
