Champions Visit

Newry will look to bounce back from Saturday's disappointment when they host champions Linfield at the Showgrounds this evening (kick off 7.45pm). The Blues invariably provide the benchmark for the Irish League and Newry will need to be at their best to get anything from the game. We haven't beaten them at the Showgrounds since New Years Day 1999, an unwanted record that this is long overdue a change. In recent years we've mixed excellent performances and a number of 1-1 draws with some heavy defeats.

If Newry can defend as well as against Glentoran then they'll give themselves a chance of a result. Any lowering of standards will lead only to the inevitable defeat. It promises to be an exciting game so get along and support your team.
