Newry City reserves earned a much needed boost when they scored a 1-0 win away to Ballymena United Reserves on Saturday. Neil Barr scored the winning goal with keeper Nathan Morley-Hillen saving a penalty. Opportunity Knocks

Newry missed a great opportunity to finally get a win over champions Linfield when the Blues grabbed victory with two late goals at the Showgrounds. Newry were dealt a blow before kick off with the news that Steven Ferguson would miss the game through injury, but started the game reasonably well. Newry will look to bounce back from Saturday's disappointment when they host champions Linfield at the Showgrounds this evening (kick off 7.45pm). The Blues invariably provide the benchmark for the Irish League and Newry will need to be at their best to get anything from the game.
