Neil Barr scored the winning goal with keeper Nathan Morley-Hillen saving a penalty. The result should help the confidence of this young side who have had a tough season learning their trade at this level....

posted on Wednesday 1st September, 2010Newry missed a great opportunity to finally get a win over champions Linfield when the Blues grabbed victory with two late goals at the Showgrounds. Newry were dealt a blow before kick off with the news that Steven Ferguson would miss the game through injury, but started the game reasonably well. Linfield had a couple of efforts off target in the early stages, but Newry were defending well and beginning to ask questions at the other end of the pitch. Champions Visit
posted on Tuesday 31st August, 2010Newry will look to bounce back from Saturday's disappointment when they host champions Linfield at the Showgrounds this evening (kick off 7.45pm). The Blues invariably provide the benchmark for the Irish League and Newry will need to be at their best to get anything from the game. We haven't beaten them at the Showgrounds since New Years Day 1999, an unwanted record that this is long overdue a change.
